My favorite season of them all, WELCOME FALL !!!
Fall is one of my favorite season, the nature's bounty is full with blooming colors, blue sky, lush green landscape, and the rich color that trees bear from green to red, yellow, orange, purple, brown shades is just mesmerizing to look at. During my childhood days growing up in India i recall Peepal tree and Banyan trees shedding their leaves, this season is called "Patjhad" in Hindi and "Pankhar" in Gujarati. I have a distant memory as from our balcony/patio at our house in Mumbai we had a Banyan tree visible at a school nearby, it had no fencing so in the afternoons after coming from school we used run over the dry fallen leaves as they made noise playing tag me; often swinging holding the long swaying branches/roots of the tree; someone had even tied a car tyre to the swaying branches/roots firmly for kids to swing. But as we grew up and moved to another place this became just a memory.
I had enjoyed the Fall weather when i visited London,UK in 2008 but the stay was not long enough. After coming to USA, and staying around quite a few places now, people here celebrate Fall colors by wearing clothes corresponding fall shades and decorating their homes with Fall embellishments to welcome the season. Fall is all about going for a long drive with family to see the fall colors, having fun at U-PICK places for fruits and vegetables, visit Pumpkin farms and pumpkin patches, followed by Trick or Treats and Haunted Halloween Parties which almost winds up this season setting the perfect cold moods for the winter to follow.
This is the time when the weather starts getting colder and windy with shorter days and longer nights. So i make the most of it by capturing it's beauty to the fullest. All these pictures are taken locally and some during my stroll time.
